Manipur International Textile Expo (MANITEX) 2025

1.    Theme- Weaving a Sustainable Future: Manipur's Handloom Heritage to Global Fashion 

2.    Introduction: Directorate of Handlooms & Textiles, Manipur, successfully organized the MANITEX annually from 2018 to 2022 (except in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and due to the internal conflict that began in May 2023; the expo could not be organized in 2023 and 2024. With the considerable improvement in conditions across the state, several major programs, such as the Shirui Lily Festival and the Manipur Sangai Festival, are once again being organized. In light of this positive momentum, the Directorate is now proposing to hold MANITEX, 2025 tentatively from 08.11.2025 to 12.11.2025 at the Urban Haat, Nilakuthi, Imphal to showcase the rich, unique, and exquisite textile heritage of Manipur to a global audience.

3.    Objectives: The primary objective of MANITEX is to showcase handloom, handicraft, textile products and textile machineries on a larger scale, inviting local weavers/ artisans/loom manufacturers and also from various states and countries. The event also aims for sustainability promotion through eco-friendly textiles, natural dyes, and sustainable weaving practices inherent in the region's tradition, to enhance local brand recognition, nurture export-ready entrepreneurs within the textile sector, host significant official events, including inaugurations and distribution ceremonies, stage the 'MANITEX Fashion Week' to promote Manipuri Textiles in high-end global fashion and establish a comprehensive roadmap for the inclusive growth of Manipur's textile industry.

4.    Target Audience: International and domestic buyers, fashion designers, textile industry professionals, technology providers, weavers, artisans, textile enthusiasts, and the general public.
